TradeCenter is a software tool that helps you log, analyze, and execute your own trades. By using TradeCenter you agree to the following:
1. SOFTWARE TOOL ONLY — TradeCenter is not a financial advisor, broker, or investment manager. All trading decisions are yours alone. Nothing in this app constitutes financial advice.
2. BROKER CREDENTIALS — If you choose to connect a broker (IBKR or Alpaca), you authorize TradeCenter to store your credentials or API keys in encrypted form (AES-256) on our servers solely to execute instructions you initiate. You acknowledge that sharing IBKR credentials may violate IBKR's own Terms of Service, and that risk is yours to accept.
3. DATA STORAGE — Your trade data, settings, and encrypted credentials are stored on TradeCenter servers. We do not sell your data to third parties. We use it only to provide the service.
4. AI SIGNAL LOGGING — When the AI scanner fires a trade signal (symbol, direction, entry/stop/target prices, confidence score, thesis), that signal is logged to our database. After 24 hours we automatically check the outcome (target hit, stop hit, or expired) using publicly available price data. This data is used solely to measure scanner performance and improve the AI — it is never shared or sold.
5. NO GUARANTEE — Trading involves risk. TradeCenter's AI signals, scanners, and analytics are tools to assist your research — not guarantees of profit.
6. INDEMNIFICATION — You agree to hold TradeCenter, its developers, and affiliates harmless from any losses, damages, or account terminations arising from your use of this software.
7. CHANGES — We may update these terms. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.

Your IBKR credentials are encrypted with AES-256 and stored in our secure database solely to keep you logged in and execute only the actions you initiate. No credentials are shared with third parties, ever.

Terms & Conditions — IBKR Connection
1. CREDENTIAL STORAGE
By connecting IBKR, you authorize TradeCenter to store your IBKR username and (if provided) password in AES-256 encrypted form. Stored solely for auto-login and trade execution initiated by you. You may delete your credentials at any time from Settings.
2. BROKER TERMS COMPLIANCE
Automating login or order placement may conflict with Interactive Brokers' own Terms of Service. You accept full responsibility for compliance with IBKR's policies. TradeCenter is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Interactive Brokers.
3. FINANCIAL RISK
Auto-trading with real money carries risk of total loss. TradeCenter provides tools and signals — all final trading decisions and their consequences are yours. We are not a registered investment adviser.
4. ORDER EXECUTION
When auto-execute is enabled, TradeCenter will place real orders on your behalf. A hard notional cap of $10,000 per signal applies as a safety guardrail. You can reduce this in settings at any time.
5. OPT-OUT / SELF-HOSTING
You may opt out of our managed service at any time. Instructions for self-hosting TradeCenter on your own infrastructure are available in our documentation. Your data will be purged on request.
6. CHANGES
We may update these terms with notice. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.

IB Gateway — Manual Setup Guide

IB Gateway is a lightweight app by Interactive Brokers that runs on your computer and lets TradeCenter place orders and read your portfolio in real time. It doesn't have the full TWS interface — just a small login window — which makes it perfect for automated use.

Go to ibkr.com → Trading → Software → IB Gateway. Download the version for your OS (Windows / macOS / Linux). Run the installer — it takes about 2 minutes.

Open IB Gateway from your Applications. A small login window appears — enter your IBKR credentials. Set Trading Mode to Paper Trading to test safely first, or Live Trading for real orders. Click Login.
⚠️ Paper trading first! Test everything on Paper before switching to Live mode. Paper trading is free and risk-free.

"Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients" checkbox
After login, a consent popup appears asking to enable API access. Click OK. In the Gateway window, go to Configure → Settings → API → Settings and ensure "Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients" is checked. Port is 4002 (paper) or 4001 (live).
If TradeCenter runs on a VPS (not your local machine), install ngrok on the same computer as IB Gateway. Run: ngrok tcp 4002
Copy the Forwarding URL (e.g. tcp://0.tcp.ngrok.io:12345) and paste it into the Gateway Host + Port fields above. Skip this step if TradeCenter is running locally.
Back in TradeCenter, enter your IBKR username and password, select your trading mode, and click ⚡ Auto-Connect. TradeCenter will verify the connection and confirm once live. A green dot means you're connected.
💡 Alternative: IBKR Client Portal
Instead of IB Gateway, you can also connect via the Client Portal API (web-based, no desktop app needed). Start it with: ./bin/run.sh root/conf.yaml
Then set Host to localhost and Port to 5000.
